Las Vegas

My family met in Las Vegas this weekend so that we could do the temple work for my Grandma Foster.  It was a really neat experience, and so fun to be there with my family.  We are just missing Trevor in this picture.  He needs to move back west so we can see his face more often!

California

We drove down to California so that we could go to Chris' cousins' wedding.  Andrew and Britney are brother and sister and they did a joint wedding.  How awesome is thatWe also got to see my family for a bit too.  We played laser tag with the nieces and nephews and "mormon yatzee" with the adults... and I actually won this time.  If we ever actually bet money, I would have been filthy rich.  We came back to Utah early because we thought Chris had to work New Years day... We found out once we got home that he actually had the day off, so we went snowboarding instead

My favorite time of year

Here's a few pictures from our December... It was so cold outside that most of the time we just opted to stay at our house and stay warm, but a few times we braved the weather and got to do some neat stuff.
I don't know how I never knew about this before, but Payson, UT  has a pond... and at Christmas time they decorate it with floating trees... It is magical.  We only lasted about 5 minutes outside, but it was neat to be there.

We also got to babysit these rock stars for a night... and they made some pretty rad gingerbread houses.  Lennon and Holden are the greatest

And I talked enough about Temple Square that Chris finally took me up to see the lights.  Its one of my favorite things about living in Utah during the holidays.  Its beautiful.  Chris also too me to see The Forgotten Carols for the first time.  So glad we have a chance to celebrate the birth of Christ and remember why we are all here...
And this beauty is our first Christmas tree... Ha ha... hopefully I'll do a little better next year.
Our Christmas was great though... I was sick so it was pretty uneventful, but Chris was a gem and took really good care of me.  We ended up having mac and cheese and hot dogs for Christmas Eve dinner... (Super embarrassing, but funny enough that it needs to be written down).  But we didn't forget the sparkling cider.  We are real classy in this household.  Hopefully I'll be able to pull off a better Christmas next year :)

Growing up

2012 turned out to be a big year for me.  Not only did I get to marry the man of my dreams, but I also finally became an adult.  Don't worry, it only took me a few extra years to figure it out, but I made it.  When I moved up to Utah a couple of years ago, the fist job I got was with SkyWest as a flight attendant.  I was stoked... free flights and a super flexible schedule was right up my ally.  I even managed to work part-time my second year.  I'm not quite sure how I paid my bills, but I made it work!  But its funny how once you have a family, life gets real and priorities kick in.  I was lucky enough to find a real grown up job through a good friend of mine and started in November... I quit the airlines and got a regular old 9-5 job... Crazy right?  But now I get to see my cute hubbs every night and we can start planning for the future.  I probably should have done this like 5 years ago, but I'm grateful for the experiences and memories that have gotten me where I am today.

fall...

I am a little behind on my blog here... Its currently 10 degrees outside and I was looking through my pictures of warmer days and realized I hadn't posted any of these yet.  These are from back in October... when it was still warm enough to walk around outside, and hikes were still a possibility because the mountains weren't covered in ice.  This is up behind our house, overlooking Utah lake and the valley.

We also got to go down to Texas to visit Chris' brother Tyler and his family.  They just bought a home there and it is adorable.  It was fun to hang out with their cute boys, Austin and Blake.  We went to the water gardens and walked around, played ball in the back yard, and went to the TCU football game that night.  We weren't there nearly long enough, but it was so fun to see them for the day.
