Mount Timpanogos

A few weekends ago I FINALLY hiked Timp.  I have been wanting to do that since I started college back in 2004... (I know, I started college 8 years ago... that is CRAZY).  But Willi had been wanting to do it again so I convinced her to come with me.  Teddy and Chani came too for the first little bit but weren't feeling too hot so they went home a little early.  Kudos to them though for waking up at 5 in the morning and waiting on Willi and I to get our act together to finally get to the trail head.
The trail head was under construction so we had to park a ways away and then walk up... Not such a big deal at the beginning of the hike, but on the way back... afer hiking 15 miles up a mountain... an extra 3/4 of a mile is NOT that awesome.  At the very end I just didn't want to do it anymore so I stuck my thumb out and a nice dad and his sons drove us the last little bit to our car :)
Willi is just the cutest.

At the top we signed our name in the book, hung out for a bit, ate some snacks, and then headed back down... Such a good Saturday activity.

A Visit to Illinois....

Spencer got home from his mission to Ghana a few weeks ago.  Chris and I went out to Illinois to surprise him and hear hear him speak in church... and I got to meet him for the first time.
It was also Shark Week while we were out there... and conveniently, a lady in their ward loves Shark Week even more than I do.  She throws a shark party every year and we got to stop by for a bit.  It was a DREAM... They had shark cookies, shark t-shirts, shark games, shark prizes... and best of all a GIANT blowup Shark SLIDE.  Ya... you heard me, a shark slide.  Like the kind you see at the fair... Only this one was a shark.  And I got to slide down it... I was in heaven.  I would have gone down it all day if I could.
Spencer, I'm glad I finally got  to meet you... and Jane and Richard, thanks again for another awesome weekend.

Mud Run

Chris and his brother did a mud run a few weeks back...  His friend Janae had a couple of spots open on their team... and luckily I was on call so I got out of it.  To be quite honest it was probably for the best considering I am NOT a runner, and their team was pretty serious about the race... I would have died.  But they got first place... and here are some pictures to prove it.

luna de miel

After the wedding we headed down to San Diego for a few days.  We stayed in Riverside for a night at the the Mission Inn and it was BEAUTIFUL...

We got tickets to see Wicked, its last night in San Diego... I had been wanting to see it for YEARS and we were definitely NOT disappointed.  It is such a good show.

AND, we spent an afternoon at Sea World.  That place is AWESOME.  Neither one of us had been there since we were really little and going made me feel like a little kid again.  We spent over an hour at the watching the turtles.  We were mesmerized.  And I was pretty stoked to see some sharks too.

And of course we spent some time at the beach.  I sure don't get to see enough of the ocean living in Utah... Our trip ended way too soon but we had a pretty good time.
