I know these probably seem far fetched, but the naïve imaginative girl in me really thought I would be able to pull it off. The India thing was more a dream than anything, but I did actually fly to Hawaii... only to turn right back around and start my life in San Diego instead. Christmas in Hawaii would have been amazing, but lack of income and rising ticket prices (among other things) prevented me from going. And teaching English in Korea… well, I really hoped it was going to work out. (In case my going to Korea is news to any of you... if anyone even reads this... I was supposed to go for the month of january. I was going to make some sweet money and be able to visit my mission and I was stoked). But I found out yesterday that Korea just wasn't in the cards for me. Apparently a H1N1 scare dropped english camp enrollment quite a bit and there's just not a big need for English teachers. So, no Korea for me.
But...
Even though I've been experiencing some big disappointments lately, I have learned some important lessons through all of this... I've learned that even though my plans don't work out, there is still someone out there watching out for me, making sure my life turns out wonderful:
- San Diego wasn't something I planned for, but ever since moving here things have just fallen into place.
- India didn't work out, but I was able to go on the most amazing trip of my life.
- I won't be spending Christmas in paradise, but I'll be able to spend time with my family here.
So, since good things came from my previous failed plans, I'm hoping january is filled with lots of adventure.
